This week’s Sunday Inspiration is going to be a little different as I’m going to simply post an image for you to use as a catapult to write in any form and to any length you desire. The only rule is that you use the image in some way shape or form to inspire your writing.
As writers we should be able to look at an image, any image and be able to create a back story, form a realistic and well formed world surrounding the scene and create characters within the world we have built that are both 3D and realistically drawn with depth, flaws and individual personalities. No matter how serene and suburban an image, you need to answer the question, ‘what is the story behind the picture?’.
Even if you only form one scene that leads the characters onto the next section of the plot, you need to be thinking about how this scene will fit (or would have fit if you decide not to expand this work to a full length play, novel or novella) into the overall plot arch and the pace of the writing.
Happy writing and here’s this weeks image that also happens to be my ideal open plan Kitchen-Dinning room-conservatory.
