Beyond the Mist arises from the ashes

I’m back after a rather extended and embarrassing break from posting on this here blog. Life is what happened while I was busy making other plans and hence my extended silence for a while.

A bereavement and a new job later I have returned, still battered from the first event and elated at the latter event, but while it may be a cliché it is true that the really big life changing events in your life are not the ones you worry about the most, but the ones that smack you in the face full throttle while your little mind is worrying about trifling things.

It’s not just my personal life that has had a few big changes either. My writing has take a great turn for the better. Despite not taking part in NaNoWriMo (National Novel writing month), I have achieved some clarity regarding my work.  I have combined two of my current works in progress (WIP) and am currently 16.5k words into my new fantasy/sci-fi/epic drama novel, Beyond the Mist, which is both exciting and refreshing. I’ll be posting more about that soon. I really just wanted to say hello to everyone and let you guys know I’m here, I’m well and I’m writing more voraciously and more enthusiastically than ever. Some good that has come from recent events is that it has clarified my mind to focus on what’s important. Right now my writing and my job are the things I want to focus on with all my energy and time.

Happy writing and have a great weekend folks

*cheers you on* Glad to hear your writing has taken a turn for the better! Mine has too, recently. Perhaps something is in the [internet] water? 😉

Cheers Katje, I hope so, I have a deadline of December 2nd 2013. That sounds like a long time but I have to finish writing, editing, get a professional cover created and get published by then. I have a bet with a writer friend to see who out of the two of us can get our books finished by then. It’s really helping to spur me on, that and more importantly the support of other writers. Happy writing and so glad to see you here. 🙂
