Weekend writing – Procastination be gone

So here comes another weekend hurtling towards us with all the freedom and pleasures that leisure time brings. This weekend will be different though, this weekend I will banish procrastination, forbid my self from Google+ and facebook, twitter and all social media. The computer will have to be on so I can type but the internet is going to have to be a no go area or I’m afraid that little magpie of procrastination…ohh new shiny thing for me to look at on the internet…. will mean a whole weekend planning to write and minimal time actually writing,

For some people the demon is writers block, for me it is distraction and a fascinating ability to waste hours which I justify to myself telling my self its ‘sorting’ or ‘networking’ .

Sure there are times when actually sitting at the desk typing the work in hand seems to be equally weighed in time spent organising book covers, finding an editor, finding a poof reader, signing up for publishing sites and working on promotion material. But not this weekend. This weekend I must write and since it’s a bank holiday on Monday (yay!) and I’m on holiday Tuesday (double yay) I have set myself a hefty target of 10,000 words. That’s totally do-able in four days…right?

Well come hell or high water when the bell rings at 4.30 tomorrow it’s gonna be straight home and straight to the keyboard…….I can’t wait to get writing.
